California Self-Study MCLE credit type and hour(s): 0.5 General hour(s)

As of January 1, 2025, California tenants in unlawful detainer (eviction) lawsuits have more time to file a response in court after being served a summons and complaint. California Code of Civil Procedure Section 1167 provides that tenants have 10 days to respond (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and judicial holidays); prior, tenants had 5 days. PBTI is working to update affected training content and would like to note that this training may contain language reflecting the prior 5-day timeline.

Target Audience

  • PBTI’s Housing Training Modules will teach trainees how to assist individuals with their housing issues, from fair housing to eviction, under the supervision of a trained legal aid attorney.
