NLSLA is looking for a volunteer intake screener to assist with intake and referrals for its consumer protection program. The intake screener will be trained on intake procedures and an innovative area of consumer law affecting low-income homeowners. Your role will be to screen prospective clients for eligibility, obtain relevant facts and issue spot, and either refer cases for internal placement or provide basic legal information and refer the case out. There is also an opportunity to work on some of these cases with a supervising attorney.
Intake screeners are asked to commit 5 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. Candidates who are comfortable working with computers and interacting with clients are highly preferred. Spanish speakers highly encouraged to apply!
