Description of Opportunity
Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) is seeking pro bono attorneys, especially immigration attorneys, to serve on its Immigrant Rights Pro Bono Panel. NLSLA has the following opportunities to volunteer:
– Opportunities for pro bono attorneys to take U Visa, T Visa, VAWA, SIJS, and UAC cases.
– Opportunities to volunteer for Know-Your-Rights clinics. NLSLA’s Immigration Legal Education and Referral Network (I-LEARN) Project puts on immigration Know-Your-Rights presentations with the goal of increasing access to accurate information about local and national policies that impact immigrants, and provides information and tools that help individuals protect themselves and their loved ones. Pro bono attorneys can plug in to I-LEARN to help the community.
– Opportunities for immigration attorneys to serve as mentor attorneys. In order to expand NLSLA’s capacity to help more immigrant victims of crime and abuse, and unaccompanied minors, experienced immigration attorneys can help provide trainings and serve as mentor attorneys to less experienced pro bono attorneys.
